Founder's Notes
Hi, I’m Neha, the founder and creative mind behind Shakun.
Fashion, for me, it has always been more than just style — it’s an emotion, an identity, and a story we wear every day. I come from a warm, joint family where business conversations were part of dinner-table talks. Listening to my father and uncle share their business journeys planted the seed of entrepreneurship in me early on — back when I was in 9th grade.
Brand Story
The only girl in my family to step into the corporate world, I began my journey in a digital marketing agency, later moving to the brand side, where I spent over 15 years managing teams, achieving targets, and learning the pulse of business.
Though my work was appreciated, true recognition never arrived during appraisal time. Over the years, I realized I was caught in a loop — a “chakravyuh” that I needed to step out of.
One winter evening in 2024, a casual conversation with my father changed everything. He said:
“India opportunities से भरा देश है… बस अच्छा काम करो, लोग खुद तुम्हें ढूँढ लेंगे। शुरुआत करो और विश्वास रखो, success ज़रूर मिलेगी।”
Those words stayed with me. That was my turning point. I decided — no more waiting.
Despite health challenges, my love for fashion and styling kept me going. I checked my final appraisal, and instead of disappointment, I found direction. That day, I chose to start my own brand.
My Belief Shaped The Brand
I’ve always believed fashion should solve real problems for real women. I wanted to create outfits that blend comfort, confidence, and modern design — clothes that feel as good as they look.
From sampling to strategy, manufacturing to marketing — I built Shakun single-handedly. My family stood by me through every stage: emotionally, financially, and in spirit.
Shakun is inspired by my mother, Shakuntala. A national level hockey player turned housewife.
The brand celebrates the strength, grace, and quiet power of women — blending tradition with modern elegance. Each piece is designed to make women feel stylish, effortless, and comfortable in their own skin.
About the Collection
Our collections are crafted from premium, breathable fabrics like Italian thick satin, 100% cotton, blended linen, silk, and muslin. Each outfit is made in limited pieces (30–40 designs) to maintain exclusivity and freshness.
